Sisterhood Scrip & Gift Certificate Program - Earn Donor Credit!!

What is Scrip??? 

Various supermarkets offer their gift certificates to fundraising organizations at a discount. You buy the gift certificates (scrip) from Sisterhood at face value and you receive 3% donor credit. Use them as cash when you do your food shopping. In the Spring there is a social event for Sisterhood members who have accumulated $85 in donor credit. Gift Certificates are available to a variety of local retailers. Need a gift? Planning a family dinner out? Buy a gift certificate and support your temple. 

Purchasing scrip/gift certificates is one of our major fundraisers and benefits Sisterhood greatly. It’s a Win, Win situation!!

Sisterhood Donor Program

The donor program is an important fundraising event and your participation enables Sisterhood to raise thousands of dollars for the Temple. Also, by participating in this program, you earn “donor credit” towards our end–of-the-year Donor Event! 

By purchasing scrip/gift certificates, tribute cards, or items from our Judaica shop, you will receive a percentage towards your donor credit. Your credit will be automatically computed by Sisterhood. At the end of the term (May 15th), a donor function will be held to honor those Sisterhood members who have reached the goal of $85.00 in donor credit. Our committee is already at work planning a spectacular trip into the city! Donor credit is earned in the following ways: 

Supermarket Scrip/Gift Certificates-You can use these “gift certificates” at stores in our area and earn 3% of the amount you purchase. We always have scrip available for Shoprite, Kings, A&P and Pathmark. A number of specialty stores and restaurants will also be available for purchase. You can buy scrip at the Temple on Sunday mornings during Religious school and on weekdays, during regular office hours. 

Sisterhood Tribute Cards- For any occasion, happy or sad, these attractive greeting cards can be sent to members or non-members of our synagogue. They state that a contribution has been made to Sisterhood, and contain a personal message from you. Tributes to temple members are also printed in the Candlestick each month. You can order tribute cards through our Tribute committee or pick them up at a Sisterhood event. You will receive $.75 in donor credit per $3.00 card, or $1.00 in donor credit per $5.00 card. Your Tribute contact is listed below according to your last name. Please do not call during the Sabbath or after 9pm.

Judaica Shop- Have you browsed through our Temple’s Judaica Shop lately? You will find a variety of beautiful and authentic Jewish items for Shabbat and other holidays, as well as gifts, books, and items for your home. What makes it even more exciting, is earning 10% of the amount purchased towards your donor credit! 

As you can see, this is an exciting and easy way to do something good for our Temple, and reap rewards for yourself at the same time! We hope that you will buy scrip, tribute cards and patronize our Judaica Shop as often as you can.
