Dear Friends,

As I write this letter, we have yet to enjoy our Kick-Off Brunch, but by the time you read this, you will have relished the bagels and lox, been educated about voting, and mingled and chatted with friends old and new.  Thanks go to Sheila Weinreb, Monique Mendelson, Beth Fuchs, Randy Wenarsky, and everyone else who pitched in to make the Kick-Off a success.

October brings us Yom Kippur, and after the fast, you can delight in Sisterhood’s Break-the-Fast feast.  Those who attend have grown in number every year, and this year will be no exception.  Many thanks go to Libby Stein for her unfailing dedication and hard work that allows everyone to enjoy this meal as well as every Friday night Oneg.

But what Sisterhood letter would be complete without the mention of more food!  Our Paid-Up Dinner is coming up on November 13 at 6:30 pm.  Ellen Mass and Ilene Thailer have been stomping around town, with no sour grapes, to make the Dinner as aromatic as possible – I know I am optimistic, but I don’t think I am looking through rose colored glasses – this will be a Dinner that all will toast for years to come!  But…you must be a member of Sisterhood in order to attend what promises to be an incredible event.

Now that we have all that food in our bellies, it’s time to work off those extra calories by exercising at Pilates and Zumba with Linda!   For more information, please call Beth Fuchs at 973-541-0683.

Sisterhood is also in the process of putting together a trip to New York City to see Irena’s Vow, starring Tovah Feldshuh.  This limited engagement show is the story of the unsung heroines of World War II and how they risked their lives to save those of many Jews.  This is the incredible true story of Irena’s choice and the lives she would ultimately change forever.  Please look for more information via e-mail and flyers at the synagogue, or call Wendi Leicht at 973-227-3863.

Again, have a wonderful New Year, an easy fast, and fun at all the Sisterhood events!  Shalom, Eve Fields, Sisterhood President
